Tour itinerary

Day 1: The first encounter with the North: icebreakers, ice, and a modern shipyard

We will meet you at the airport of Arkhangelsk and take you to your hotel, leave your luggage in the storage room and start exploring the city.

We will start with the Arkhangelsk city tour and then we'll visit the Pomor Koch shipyard. Here, you'll touch the wooden ship that Russians used to conquer the ice hundreds of years ago and smell the resin and wood. You'll learn why the inhabitants of the White Sea coast were called Pomors and how they managed to explore the Arctic.

It gets dark early here in winter, so we go to the Arctic Museum – a magical place – a real portal to another dimension.

Afterwards, we will have dinner at the Pomorsky restaurant, where northern delicacies and traditional Indian dishes will be prepared specially for you.

After you’ll check in into the hotel.

Day 2: Huskies, snowmobiles, polar bear and Arctic jazz

After breakfast, we'll visit the most energetic inhabitants of the North—huskies and Russian greyhounds, sled dogs. Afterwards, you'll enjoy a banana boat ride behind a snowmobile.  At the end of the visit we will enjoy tea and northern pastries in the cozy atmosphere of the kennel.

We'll return to Arkhangelsk to visit the Russian Arctic Museum. Don't forget to take a photo with the Lord of the Arctic—the polar bear. It's safe and impressive.

After lunch, we'll walk along the most beautiful pedestrian avenue in Arkhangelsk.

After the walk, we'll visit a folk crafts school. Here, we won't just listen to a tour; we'll actually get to grips with tools and wood and participate in a workshop.

Under the guidance of a craftsman, you'll create your own amulet or small souvenir. You'll carve, paint, or weave using ancient techniques, just as the Pomors did hundreds of years ago.

After a day filled with frosty air and activities, we head to a jazz club for dinner to the sounds of "Arctic jazz" which is as fresh and powerful as the Arctic Ocean.

Day 3: Wooden churches and winter activities

We'll touch the roots of folk architecture and art as we head to Malye Korely, a vast open-air museum. You'll be greeted at the gates, according to an old Russian tradition—with bread and salt.

You'll walk among wooden churches, mills, and enormous houses that are hundreds of years old. It's like stepping into a time machine. You'll sing, dance, and dance in circles with local performers. You’ll also enjoy a ride in a horse-drawn sleigh across the sparkling snow.

A culinary journey awaits you after exploring the museum: a lunch of traditional northern dishes at the tourist complex’s restaurant.

Now it's time to forget about serious excursions. It’s time to just be a kid and take part in various winter activities: have a snowball fight, dive into fluffy snowdrifts, and, of course, test your speed—ride a snowmobile across the snowy expanse or slide down a snow tube—it's just as fun as a water slide, only even more fun. This is your chance to play in the snow to your heart's content.

The highlight of the day is the hunt for the Northern Lights. We'll be watching the sky in hopes of catching this magical spectacle.

Day 4: Ice swimming and a live concert by a Russian choir

On your final day, you'll experience something you've definitely never tried before: ice floating—winter swimming in a lake. Wearing a special wetsuit that keeps you warm and afloat, you'll float among ice floes in the lake, surrounded by a snow-covered forest.

Lunch at the Hindi café will be a pleasant contrast—the warm oriental atmosphere and spicy aromas will gently transport you from an icy fairytale to the embrace of civilization.

Afterwards, you'll visit the legendary Northern Russian Folk Choir. This isn't just a concert—it's an immersion into living traditions. There you'll enjoy:

- a backstage tour: you'll visit the costume shop—a treasure trove of authentic folk costumes;
- traditional headdress try-on: you'll try on stunning kokoshniks and povoyniks adorned with pearls and gold embroidery and take unique photos;
- a live concert: performers in vibrant costumes will perform ancient northern songs for you—from rollicking dances to epic bylinas. Their powerful voices and energy will make your heart beat in time!

This farewell will remain forever in your heart—warm, heartfelt, and truly Russian.
