Tour itinerary
Day 1: The first date with the North
After meeting at the airport, we'll explore the city. Arkhangelsk is more than just a city. It's Russia's first seaport, and you'll feel it on the embankment of the River Northern Dvina, imagining how merchant ships from Europe arrived here and expeditions to explore the Arctic set out. Arkhangelsk is where Russia became a maritime power.
Then you'll head to a place where history comes alive—to the shipyard, where they're building a 20-meter wooden vessel—an exact replica of the vessels used by the Pomors to navigate the harsh seas. You'll touch the ice-resistant ship and take a photo next to this wooden giant. Smell the resin (from trees)—this scent will forever be associated with the North.
In the evening, a magical experience awaits you at the Arctic Museum named after the northern artist Alexander Borisov.
Day 2: Cranberries, cows and Arctic jazz
After breakfast, the most unexpected thing happens. We'll head to the swamp. You'll see how the famous Arkhangelsk cranberries grow.
Next, we'll head to an old wooden house in the village of Kholmogory. It smells of wood and freshly baked goods. You'll bake your own shanga in a Russian oven. It's simple, but the taste is indescribable. Lunch will be simple, rustic, but cooked in a real Russian oven.
After lunch, we'll have a photoshoot in traditional northern costumes.
And in the evening, we'll go to a jazz club. Live music, the atmosphere, and the pleasant relief from such a busy day will make this evening unforgettable.
Day 3: Songs, gingerbread, polar bear and diamonds
We'll visit the famous open-air museum of wooden architecture Malye Korely. Wooden houses, bell towers and mills among pine trees – as if time has stood still. You'll be greeted with bread and salt, in the old Russian tradition, and a folk ensemble will teach you northern songs and dances.
After lunch, we'll return to Arkhangelsk to visit the Arctic Embassy. This is the headquarters for all who live and explore the Arctic. Don't forget to take a photo with the Lord of the Arctic—the polar bear. It's safe and impressive.
Next, we'll head to the gingerbread museum, where you can decorate gingerbread souvenirs with icing: a deer and a fish. Take home a delicious memory of the North.
The day ends with a glimpse of Russian diamonds at the Diamond Museum.
Day 4: The beautiful Northern Dvina and a river cruise on an old steamboat
Instead of the pre-flight bustle, we'll enjoy a leisurely cruise along the beautiful River Northern Dvina on a unique, one-of-a-kind paddle steamer.
Before the trip, enjoy lunch at the Hindi Café—a taste of home that will gently bring you back to reality.
